On March 19, 2006, I was injured in a motocross accident in Poole, Kentucky. I sustained a C1-C2 vertebrae fracture and spinal cord injury. I have been to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta and the International Center for Spinal Cord Injury at Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore for rehabilitation.
As of May 24th, 2007, I am a graduate of Harrison High School. I have been enjoying life like a normal teenager, hanging out with friends, working on cars and spending time with my lady, Brandy.
In the fall, I will be attending the University of Southern Indiana and though I am uncertain as to the path I am going to take, I am excited to move ahead. I read a marquis that said,
"If you stumble, make sure that you stumble forward."
I'm sure that through the next stage, there will be plenty of stumbles, but looking back over the last 15 months, I realize how important family and friends have been in my recovery and in my ability to make the achievements that I have made. To all of you, your kindness and genuine concern will not be forgotten and I hope that in my future, I will be able to "pay it forward"
